Description:"Real-time radar data is very important in flash flood and severe thunderstorms situations. Without a computer monitoring the radar, the forecaster has to waste valuable time in either going to look at the radar or calling the radar operator on the phone. At some places, the fore- caster just doesn't have time to check the radar and therefore, the forecasts are not as reliable as they could be. A prototype computer radar system has been developed to test the feasibility of an inexpensive real-time radar tool"--Introduction.
