Description:"This paper depicts in a graphical manner the skill of the Medium Range (3-10 day) Forecast Group (MRFG) man and machine (numerical model guidance) forecasts. It will be updated each February in order to present the latest scores for each of the several forecast categories in the MRFG. Only scores with at least a 5-year period of record are presented. This paper contains the standardized and unstandardized mean sea level pressure and 500-mb correlation; the Gilman, Hughes, and experimental precipitation skill; the minimum/maximum absolute temperature error; and the mean normalized 500-mb correlation, temperature, and precipitation skill scores. Subsequent updates to this note will include the Brier precipitation score"--Page 1.
