Description:

Oil spills are a major concern associated with both offshore oil production and movement of oil through the Mid-Atlantic Bight area. This report summarizes appropriate environmental data, discusses the movement of oil at sea, and attempts to predict the effects of oil spills for the New York Bight, a region lying between Montauk Point, N.Y. and Cape May, N.J.
