This atlas presents seasonal maps of winter temperature departures from the long-term mean (1895-1983) over the United for each of these 89 seasons. The purpose of this publication is to provide the many users of climatic information with a reference containing the longest available series of maps depicting the spatial distribution of winter relative to long-term record mean, and to present a statistical of the degree of unusualness of these temperature departures.
