Description:NOAA actively sought the community's input on the proposed Sand Point development plans. From these early discussions, NOAA identified a number of design elements which would mitigate environmental impact and foster public support for the project. One of these measures was inclusion of funds in the project's budget for development of artworks at the site. The artworks would play an important part in NOAA's plans to promote public awareness of the agency's services and to provide an attractive, pleasant site for both public and agency personnel.
