Description:This exhibit displays only a few of the unique capabilities being developed by NOAA's Office of Oceanography and Marine Assessment to generate and communicate information for decisions. These capabilities range from the organization of information on the life history distribution of important fish, shellfish, and marine mammals throughout the Exclusive Economic Zone of the USA, useful for long-range planning for the multiple use of oceanic resources, to real-time information required for the safe response to spills of hazardous materials in coastal areas. It includes a capability to communicate with NOAA water level and current measurement systems to provide real-time information for navigation.
