Description:In this report, the time series of data available from NWAFC demersal trawl surveys are examined for their possible contribution to the assessnent of the pollock population. Findings indicate that demersal trawl surveys that have sampled a major portion of the eastern Bering continental shelf usually provide reliable indices of relative abundance but commercial fisheries data appear to more accurately reflect trends in abundance.
