Description:National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s National Coral Reef Monitoring Program (NCRMP) conducts biological sampling for fish populations and communities, coral populations, and benthic communities every year, alternating between Florida/Flower Garden Banks and the U.S. Caribbean. In 2023, NCRMP surveys of the U.S. Virgin Islands shallow water (≤ 30 m) coral reefs occurred in June and August, and in Puerto Rico from June until November.
