Description:In 1983, the NOAA Ocean Services Program was established to expand the agency's service to the marine community by providing "one-stop" regional service centers for interaction between the users of NOAA products and services and NOAA. The program is designed to enhance the coordination, quality, and distribution of existing NOAA products and services. The program also enco urages the exchange of information between NOAA and users for the development of new products and services to meet user needs. The Northwest Ocean Service Center was established in October 1983 to service the Washington-Oregon-California marine community.
