Description:

Physical and chemical data are presented for the period 8 October 1971 to 31 December 1973 (Table 1). Collection of this information is supplementary to current biological studies of the effects of thermal stress, oil pollution, heavy industry, and other potential contributors to environmental contamination presumed to exist in Port Gardner and adjacent areas (Figure 1). These data are considered to be of value in characterizing the marine environment prior to anticipated changes occurring with the advent of nuclear electric plants (Snyder and McConnell, 1971) and predicted industrial growth.
