Since the Atlantic sturgeon (Acipenser oxyrinchus oxyrinchus) was listed under the Endangered Species Act in 2012, robust estimates of abundance have been unavailable at the Distinct Population Segment or coastwide level. We provide updated annual swept area abundance estimates of Atlantic sturgeon in nearshore areas derived from Northeast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program surveys conducted from 2007-2023.
