Description:The objectives of the workshop were as follows: 1. To discuss ongoing Federal marine pollution research and monitoring programs that address the management questions and research and information needs of the high priority pollution issues identified in the 1985 plan and to evaluate the extent to which information is being generated to answer these management questions. 2. To assess the current validity of the management questions posed in the 1985 Federal Plan and, if appropriate, recommend modifications to existing management questions and possibly new management questions. 3. To update research and information needs identified in the 1985 Federal Plan and identify new research and information needs to address the revised management questions in the various problem areas. 4. To recommend the types of Federal research, development, and monitoring efforts required to meet the research and information needs.
