Description:The first-of-its-kind conference blended the traditional CalCOFI community (i.e. fishery oceanographers) with the CalOOS community and brought together 250 ocean professionals from across California (214) and included geographic representation from the U.S. West Coast (10), Mexico (13), and other states (9). Participants represented diverse sectors and provided multi-disciplinary expertise, including marine scientists, early-career ocean professionals (ECOPs), maritime industries (i.e. Offshore Wind, ports and harbors, fisheries and shellfisheries), and maritime enthusiasts resulting in the assembly of hundreds of unique organizations and dozens of knowledge producers/users to share, learn, and build a collaborative vision for future ocean prosperity.
