Description:India has a long coastal line which is prone to tropical cyclones during pre-monsoon, monsoon and post-monsoon seasons. Tropical storms are formed in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Extremely severe tropical cyclone (ESTC) Fani hits the southern coast of India in May 2019 and caused large destruction along its track over land. The impact of this storm reached up to the eastern parts of India and up to the Himalayan region. We have carried out a detailed analysis of various land and ocean parameters using satellite, model, and ground data. The land-ocean temperature contrast during April helped in the formation of such an ESTC. High relative humidity in the eastern parts of India affected the cyclone track. Cyclonic conditions influenced the ozone concentration, ocean parameters near the surface, and the subsurface ocean layer. Our detailed analysis shows a strong influence on land and ocean parameters associated with the Cyclone Fani.
