In 2018, in collaboration with the Southern California Coastal Water Research Program (SCWRPP), the California Ocean Protection Council, and the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary (CINMS), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Mussel Watch Program (MWP) conducted an assessment of the presence, distribution, and concentrations of trace metals in blue mussels from the Southern California Bight's coastal waters.
