Description:A chartered factory trawler was used in August 1998 to conduct an experimental bottom-trawl survey of slope rockfish in two study areas northeast of Kodiak Island, Alaska. The experiment targeted three rockfrsh species: Pacific ocean perch (Sebastes olutus), shortraker rockfish (Sebastes borealis), and rougheye rockfish (Sebastes aleutianus), and used a new survey technique, adaptive sampling.
