The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has developed this Recovery Plan for the oceanic whitetip shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) pursuant to the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (ESA), as amended (16 U.S.C. 1531 et seq.), and in accordance with our mission to recover and conserve protected species.
