    The Aanderaa current meter as supplied by the manufacturer has no provision for recording of real time information on the data tape. When processing the current meter data, if the expected number of records (computed from start and end times) does not correlate with the actual number of records, it is difficult and sometimes impossible to assign time to a data record. The Time Counter Module (TCM) eliminates this deficiency in the current meter by providing an hourly interval sequence number on the data tape. Following the design and successful testing of a preprototype breadboard model, three engineering prototype models were fabricated and tested, including limited field testing. This report describes the tests performed and results obtained from these tests.
