Description:

This paper provides new information on the low level structure and behavior of African easterly waves (AEWs) and relates this information to previous studies. The paper also evaluates the performance of The Florida State University (FSU) Superensemble (SE) in forecasting the 850 hPa wind field and precipitation for AEWs during the period June-October of 2001.
