This annual report for 1997 is provided in response to paragraph 4.2 of the Statement of Work, Attachment J.1.1, Contract No. 50-DGNW-5-00004 of March 21, 1995, between the U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, and the NRC, National Academy of Sciences. The report summarizes the activities of the committee during the year but does not include findings or recommendations arising from the continuing work of the NWSMC except as references from previously published reports.
