Approval and implementation of the Program will restrict or prohibit land and water uses in certain parts of the Oregon coast, while promoting and encouraging development and use activities in other parts. This may affect property values, property tax revenues, and resource extraction or exploration. The Program will provide an improved decision-making process for determining coastal land and water uses and siting of facilities of national interest, and will lead to increased long-term protection of and benefit from the State's coastal resources.
