Description:In 1995, the Portland District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) contracted with the National Marine Fisheries Service to study fishes in bottom habitats in six flowlane disposal areas in the Columbia River between River Miles (RM) 24 and 81. All six areas were used for in-water disposal of sediments dredged from the navigational channel. The goal of the study was to describe fish communities in these areas, with particular emphasis on white sturgeon (Acipenser transmontanus).
