Description:In June 1987, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) entered into a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE), Portland District, to assess the impact of the disposal of dredged materials from the entrance of Winchester Bay, Umpqua River, Oregon, on benthic infauna at a proposed in-bay disposal site (Fig. 1). Dredging began 15 September and was completed on 16 October. Collection of biological and sediment samples was done on 18 August and 26 October 1987.
