The Limited-Area, Fine-Mesh model (LFM), used operationally at the National Meteorological Center (NMC), is documented. Emphasis is placed upon the model's mathematical and physical approximations, and upon the methods used to initialize the model's cr-coordinated variables from the analyzed fields. The information presented was current at the end of 1976.
