Description:The fishermen of Taiwan harvested 650,096 metric tons of fish and other marine products in 1971, an increase of 6 percent over the 1970 catch (Fig. 2). The high-seas and inland fisheries were Taiwan's most productive fisheries, but fish culture registered the greatest percentage increase in 1971 (table 1).
