Description:This report provides incidental take estimates for six marine mammal species taken in the 2005 Northeast Sink Gillnet (NESG) and Mid-Atlantic Coastal Gillnet (MACG) fisheries and documents the methodology used to produce the estimates. For the NESG fishery, the estimated take was 26 common dolphins (CV = 80%), 630 harbor porpoises (CV = 23%), 15 Risso's dolphins (CV = 93%), 59 Atlantic white-sided dolphins (CV = 49%), 574 gray seals (CV = 44%), 719 harbor seals (CV = 20%), and 35 harp seals (CV = 68%). For the MACG fishery, the estimated 2005 takes included 470 harbor porpoises (CV = 51%) and 63 harbor seals (CV = 67%).
