Description:The mission of the NWS's Hydrologic Research Laboratory (HRL) within the Office of Hydrology (OH) is to develop, test, and assist in the implementation of new technology required for maintaining efficient performance and for enhancing the capabilities of the Hydrologic Service Program of the NWS to meet future hydrological forecasting requirements. HRL is the applied research and development (R&D) laboratory in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) which develops and assists in the operational implementation of hydrologic and hydrometeorological models and procedures in direct support of the NOAA River and Flood Forecast and Warning Program.
