Description:This report summarizes research progress and activities accomplished by the Division of Estuarine and Coastal Ecology of the NMFS Southeast Fisheries Center, Beaufort Laboratory from July 1, 1977 to July 1, 1978. This research program is jointly funded by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and Department of Energy (DOE) and its primary objective is to understand the relation between fishery productivity and ecosystem productivity in estuaries and coastal waters of the 'Southeastern U. S. and to assess the effects of energy-related activities on these ecosystems.
