Description:This JPSS ATMS Sensor Data Record User’s Guide (hereinafter referred to as the User’s Guide) is intended for users of the operational ATMS SDRs generated from the IDPS. Note that detailed instrument engineering platinum resistance thermometer (PRT) data and calibration target measurement data – i.e., blackbody PRT measurements and blackbody and cold space view instrument digital counts – are contained in the ATMS Raw Data Record (RDR), and as such are not covered in this document. The subsequent sections of this document will summarize ATMS instrument measurement characteristics, as well as SDR product generation and data filename and file formats. It will also describe temperature and geolocation data products and their associated quality information. Technical background information will be given as needed to help understand the data.
