Description:Since 1995, the National Marine Fisheries Service has evaluated transportation of spring/summer Chinook salmon smolts from Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River. In 2002, we began evaluations of transporting spring Chinook salmon from McNary Dam on the Columbia River. Fish were PIT-tagged at upper Columbia River hatcheries for these evaluations, and in 2006, we continued with the fifth year of this work.
