Description:In 2006, we continued a multiyear study to detect migrating juvenile anadromous salmonids Oncorhynchus spp. using trawl net detection systems in the Columbia River estuary. Fish targeted for detection were those implanted with passive integrated transponder (PIT) tags and released from various locations in the Snake and Columbia River basins. We evaluated three trawls fitted with PIT-tag detection antennas: a large trawl, a matrix trawl, and a shoreline trawl system.
