Description:This is the final edition of the National Implementation Plan forthe Modernization ofthe National Weather Service (NIP). By the end of fiscal year 2000, modernization goals ofthe agency will be met. The National Weather Service (NWS) will be operating one ofthe most advanced predictive warning programs consistent with service needs, user acceptability, and cost. Offices will be restructured, obsolete equipment will be replaced, and NWS employees will be trained to achieve maximum benefit from scientific and technological advances.
