Description:The NOAA ship OREGON II departed Pascagoula, Miss. at 2:00pm On January 10, 1991 to initiate an Atlantic coast cooperative ecosystem survey and to tag and release striped bass and summer flounder. The cruise consisted of three primary segments which included: 1) collections of plankton and associated oceanographic data off the Florida Keys, between January 13-18 in cooperation with the University of Miami; 2) tag and release striped bass and summer flounder off North Carolina and Virginia between January 23 to February 2, in cooperation with the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries (NCDMF), and Maryland Division of Natural Resources (MDDNR); and 3) collect ichthyoplankton samples, February 3 to 12, in coordination with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Laboratory in Beaufort, NC.
