Description:This report, “Rebuilding Interior Columbia Basin Salmon and Steelhead,” outlines the actions NOAA Fisheries believes will be necessary to achieve the CBP’s mid-range goals for adult salmon and steelhead abundance by 2050. These mid-range goals look beyond recovering species from the brink of extinction. They seek, for example, to return unlisted stocks to areas from which they were previously extirpated. Columbia River salmon and steelhead abundance remains far below historical levels. This report addresses the 16 interior Columbia River basin salmon and steelhead stocks that spawn above Bonneville Dam.
