Description:This biannual report covers the first two years of the program since its designation by the Secretary of Commerce as the 16th Sea Grant College. The majority of Sea Grant research projects for the past two years targeted the great need for information on Alaska's commercially important fisheries resources. Sixteen of 17 research projects and eight of nine rapid response projects were directly related to these commercial fisheries. The Alaska Marine Advisory Program, extension education project, continues to receive major Sea Grant funding, and is an effective catalyst for developing and improving fishing and processing technologies.
