Description:This report on the Delaware Sea Grant Program covers the period September 1, 1974 through August 31, 1975 —the seventh year of Sea Grant program participation for Delaware and the fourth year of institutional status. Last year's annual report described a difficult year, but looked to 1974-75 with optimism. It is clear now that the optimism was well founded. The year brought success to the Delaware program in several different ways. Areas of success include: Developing closed system mariculture; Developing the commercial application of chitin; Defining the value of Delaware's wetlands; Identifying and cultivating salt-tolerant, seed-bearing food plants; Providing information on storms; and Undertaking evaluation of Delaware's small bays to conserve a valuable resource.
