Description:The eastern U.S. 2019 November cold outbreak was mainly caused by extreme northerly winds. CMIP6 results find nonsignificant dynamical effects of anthropogenic climate change on such regional winds; thermodynamic effects alone decreased the probability of this cold event by 70%.
