Description:Our main reason for undertaking this study of Louisiana parish boundaries through lakes, bays, and sounds lay in performing a public service by helping to clarify boundaries in these water bodies. Where boundaries are uncertain, laws cannot adequately be enforced; and when the parish governments finally move to settle their boundaries, costly disputes often follow.
