Description:The surface ship path control problem is formulated as a multivariable, linear state variable control problem subjected to measurement noise and nonzero mean disturbances. A multivariable generalization of integral control is presented and then specialized to the surface ship path control problem. The controller has the property of providing zero steady-state error to a constant commanded set point.
