Description:

The floating tire breakwater (FTB) is a recent innovation (Stitt, 1963; Kowalski, 1974) evolving out of this increasing demand for low-cost wave-protection structures. It is a flexible breakwater constructed almost entirely of scrap automobile tires, and is intended for short-fetch (say less than 15 km) or semi-protected locations.
