Description:Florida's saltwater beaches have made it a mecca for outdoor recreation seekers from all over the world. This report analyzes Florida's economic dependence on this natural resource. Both economic impact (how many people participate, how much they spend on beach activities) and economic valuation (value to the user of benefits received) are discussed in terms of sales, employment, wages and taxes generated, and their possible application to policy issues. Beach location maps, survey instruments used, and a bibliography are included.
