Description:

In 1978, the University of North Carolina Sea Grant used its $1.3 million in state and federal funds to support 21 extension research projects and another dozen or so short-term projects. The advisory staff grew to 12 full-time agents with the addition of a coastal engineer and a marine education specialist. This publication includes highlights of 1978 as well as project subjects on Food from the sea, Fisheries, Coastal studies, Recreation, Estuarine studies, Education, Publications, the 1978 budget and project standing.
