The most important role in diving accident management is that of the first responder(s) on the scene--the buddy, the divemaster, instructor, or boat operator.' This 50-page manual provides a comprehensive, easily-read overview of all aspects of dive accident management. Topics include basic first aid; proper examination techniques; oxygen administration; and how to indentify and treat air embolism, decompression sickness, barotrauma, cold injury and other physiological problems. First aid treatments for injuries caused by a wide range of marine life are discussed. Helicopter evacuation procedures are also covered.
