Description:A recent project of the volunteer-based Great Bay Coast Watch program centered on water quality and phytoplankton monitoring. In this report to the New Hampshire Coastal Program, ten objectives of the previous year and are reviewed. The methods employed to further each objective are briefly recounted. Besides the continual monitoring and reporting of water quality and phytoplankton at various sites, these included: developing an education program for volunteers; updating supporting materials such as the photo library and fact sheet; publishing the changes to monitoring methods; and enlisting local school involvement.
