Description:Faced with declining natural stocks, increased market competition from imported products, consumer questions on seafood safety, and stricter environmental regulations, the domestic seafood processing industry is facing tough challenges. The Seafood Environmental Summit, whose presentations are compiled here, focused on environmental quality, pollution prevention, and waste reduction in processing aquatic fishery products. The summit represented a broad and diverse view of subjects that impact domestic fisheries and the seafood processing industry in the U.S.
