Description:"The proposed action, as described in Section 4.0, would establish specifications for the 2010 fishing year (FY) for the Atlantic Deep-Sea Red Crab fishery. The action would replace specifications implemented through emergency action on April 6, 2009, which were extended through a notice published in the Federal Register on August 24, 2009, and will expire on February 28, 2010. This action is needed to put new specifications in place for the start of FY 2010, on March 1, 2010. Under this action the Council is proposing a target total allowable catch (TAC) and a days-at-sea (DAS) allocation to the red crab fleet that is the same as the levels currently in effect under the emergency action"--Executive summary (p. 9).
