"The eighth in a series of bottom trawl surveys of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) groundfish and invertebrate resources was completed during the summer of 2003 by the Resource Assessment and Conservation Engineering (RACE) Division, Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). The 2003 biennial groundfish survey closely followed the design used for prior GOA (Brown (1986), Stark et al. (1988), Stark and Pashchenko (1989), Payne and Stark (1991), Payne and Martin (1994), Stark (1997), Stark and Raring (2000), and Raring (2008)) designed to describe and monitor the distribution, abundance and biological condition of important groundfish stocks"--Introduction.
