Description:Isentropic analysis is another valuable way of looking at the atmosphere. In the past, isentropic analysis was rarely used by operational forecasters due to the lack of the ability to rapidly produce charts. However, AFOS has made it possible to look at isentropic data soon after soundings are received from upper air stations. Our experience indicates they can be an excellent nowcasting tool.
