Description:As the program for GATE emerges from the general uncertainty into subprograms, flight plans and scale interrelationships, the need for a cloud physics program which reaches down to the D scale becomes increasingly apparent. Subsequently, a review is given of the cloud physics program as it stands today composed from bits and pieces; also a proposed supplementary program is discussed which the reader will find to be well justified. It is to be carried out within the convective subprogram and as far as possible on the flight program which is currently planned.
