Description:During the 1999 Central Pacific tropical cyclone season, sea surface temperatures in the Eastern and Central Pacific were near normal, except near the equator and in a small area just southeast of the Hawaiian Islands, where there were negative anomalies between 1-2 degrees Celsius. In the vicinity of the Hawaiian Islands, sea surface temperatures were near normal.
